You can count on finding fun for the whole family –and especially the kids – by signing up for SUMMER READING ‘08, a state sponsored program at all New York City public libraries.
How do you join? Visit your local library or log onto www.summerreading.org. for a list of Summer Reading events and book lists for all ages. The Summer Resding program runs from early June through the end of August.
Who can join? Everyone in the family from babies to adults. Even children who are too young to read by themslves can join and have family and/or friends read aloud to them.
Children and teens who read during the summer are better prepaered for school in the fall. Adults reading can have fun while being good role models for the kids. At the end of summer children and teens receive a certificate.
